We caught a lot of throwback sea bass and snapper and still put together a good mixed bag of keepers. The catch included sea bass, triggerfish, sea robins, two dolphin and a shark. A light northeast breeze kept the heat down.

We found hungry king mackerel right out of the gate. After the sharks took over the bottom bite, we switched back to trolling and added a few more kings, false albacore and a bailer dolphin. There was steady action all morning.

We also had two high-speed bites on the way in that did not stay connected. Even on a slower day, the trip still produced some good-eating fish, and the wahoo fishing should keep getting better.
